This week we explore Bayfordbury Observatory, a local pub and children’s play area. Bayfordbury Observatory is the University of Hertfordshire’s teaching observatory for astronomy and astrophysics. It is considered one of the best equipped and largest astronomical teaching observatories in the country. Dates for their April – September guided tours will soon be launched on their website.
A Guided Astronomy Evening includes:
• A talk from one of their astronomy students
• A tour of the night sky in the Planetarium
• A chance to look through the observatory telescopes (weather permitting)
Visits last around 2 hours, starting at 6pm
Most events are suitable for all ages
