This week we’re showcasing Grandey’s Place, a British heritage crafts centre in the heart of the countryside near Much Hadham.
Grandey’s place was set up in 2019 to support craftspeople, with studio space within an artistic community to conserve their specialist crafts. Today, their resident artists and makers are synonymous with Great British craftsmanship, who between them have received prestigious commissions from the Royal Family, Westminster Abbey and the Royal Albert Hall. They have even had appearances on BBC’s The Repair Shop.
Their crafts include:
- stained glass
- heritage knitwear
- ceramics
- mixed media sculpture
- watchmaking
- globemaking
- designer metalwork
- letter carving
- woodturning & furniture design
- bespoke leatherwork
- floral design
- violin and stringed instrument repairs.
This weekend, Saturday 29 November, you will have the chance to meet them at their festive showcase of heritage crafts, or you can visit them at one of their regular, monthly ‘Tailored Tours’ or the occasional open day.
Their artisan baker is also open daily, Monday to Saturday.
