Explore Hertford Heath

Nature

Explore the Hertford Heath Nature Reserve — a beautiful mix of heathland and woodland, and a designated Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI).

The reserve is split into two areas:

  • The Roundings — a rare Hertfordshire open heathland
  • Goldingtons — a peaceful area of mixed secondary woodland

Keep an eye out for heathland species like heather and gorse, and maybe even spot some of the local reptiles and amphibians near the ponds!

Enjoy a relaxing woodland walk among hornbeam, oak, and birch trees.
