This week we enjoy a taste of spring and cheerful snowdrops at Benington Lordship Gardens.
Open to the public on selected days, these gardens are renowned for their breath taking display of naturalised snowdrops, creating a white carpet around the Norman keep and moat every February. Alongside them, you’ll spot hellebores, aconites, winter-flowering shrubs, and vibrant coloured stems of acers, cornus and willow reflected in the ponds.
Set on an ancient site, this iconic garden is steeped in history. Wander among the remains of a medieval motte and bailey castle and the ruins of a Norman keep (now a listed monument), with the beautiful manor house, built around 1700, overlooking it all.

When open, this beautiful site offers the opportunity to treat yourself at their charming tea room where you can enjoy a selection of savoury snacks, traditional cream teas, freshly brewed tea and coffee, and homemade cakes.
